What you should know about
"Miniature/Toy Australian Shepherds"
The
following
registries do not recognize any size variety of Australian
Shepherds:
Australian Shepherd
Club of America (ASCA)
United States Australian Shepherd Association (USASA)
and its parent club, the AKC
United Kennel Club (UKC)
"Mini
Aussies,"
"Toy
Aussies," and Miniature American Shepherds are distinct and separate
breeds from the Australian Shepherd.
If you want an Aussie, get an Aussie. If you
want a smaller dog, Australian Shepherd bitches measuring
18" and weighing 30 pounds can be found and are within the
preferred size range of the ASCA breed standard.
If
you still want a "Mini Aussie," please see the AKC,
UKC
and MASCUSA websites for
that breed.
